Who we are




ABOUT US

Peter Whittle (Founder and Director) is a journalist, broadcaster and programme-maker. He writes features on the arts and social issues for the Sunday Times, and has also contributed opinion pieces to the Spectator, the Sunday Telegraph, the Los Angeles Times, the Times, the FT and the Independent on Sunday. Alongside this he is a film critic for the Sunday Times, for whom he’s also reviewed theatre and books. He makes regular appearances on Sky News, and contributes to Radio 2’s arts programmes The Weekender and The Green Room, and Radio 4’s Front Row. He currently hosts Culture Clash, the weekly cultural review show on 18 Doughty Street Talk TV. He was also host of the Carlton Cinema channel. As a documentary-maker, he has produced and directed factual programmes for all the UK terrestrial channels, as well as for the Fox Network and USA Networks in America, where he lived for four years. Subjects have ranged from Elizabeth I to the paparazzi. He is currently writing a book, A Life Less Ordinary, for the Social Affairs Unit, to be published in summer 2007.

Dawn Steeves (Secretary) works for the London based think tank the International Policy Network as Manager of Fundraising and Special Events. The goal of International Policy Network is to encourage better public understanding of the role of the institutions of the free society in social and economic development. Before arriving in London from New York City to join the IPN staff Dawn worked for four years as the Director of Development and Marketing for the Foundation for Cultural Review which publishes the monthly journal The New Criterion.

Franck Guillory

Elizabeth Drury (Press Relations)has been a journalist and broadcaster for over 13 years. In addition, her career has included working for Conservative Central Office and The Cancer Research Campaign as a Press Officer. She has coordinated the press coverage for Eltham and other South East London seats in the 2005 General Election campaign and has stood twice as a candidate in council elections. She is married with 2 young children.

Dominic Hilton is a writer and humorist based in the UK and USA. In 2001 he helped launch the online magazine openDemocracy, where he worked as an editor and columnist for the next four years. His work is published in newspapers and magazines across the globe and he appears regularly on TV and radio, often as himself. He has just completed his first book, a send-up of world affairs commentary over the past five years provisionally titled The Pulitzer Votes Won't Be Cast For Months Yet. David S. Taylor works for Orange, the personal communications provider. He runs special PR programmes for the CEO around brand, social and economic issues and is a scriptwriter for the company's senior executive team. David has worked as a PR consultant and copy writer for over a decade with some of the world's biggest technology and business brands. From 1995 David was an activist for Democracy Now, the campaign for Labour Party membership in Northern Ireland. He even was a member of the Labour Party and worked as a parliamentary researcher for a Labour MP. He has been a confirmed Daily Telegraph reader for eight years.
