Can we still laugh about religion?



That's the question asked by Europe 1, one of the main French radio stations, for its latest advertising campaign, entitled 'Let's talk to each other' which appears in all main French newspapers and magazines.


Obviously it seems we can still depict the Virgin Mary in awkward positions. One wonders why they didn't choose instead a green crescent or a replica of Mohammad to put above the door. Surely, it would have made good sense and would have attracted them much more publicity.
As it stands, it brings to mind the absurd metropolitan police ad which seemed to suggest that the Bible was at the route of religiously motivated attacks.
